Cody"s Crawling - Almost 9 months....

What an exciting week we are having. I worked from my Mom's house on Tuesday and all of a sudden I looked up and Cody was up on all fours crawling backwards. It was so awesome. I feel so blessed that I was there to experience it. I even got a video of it to show Daddy (and the anybody else who wants to see). He has been trying now for a couple of weeks, so we knew it would be any day....

Now last week I could have done without. Cody woke up late last Sunday night crying which is very unlike him. He had a slight fever so i decided to keep him home from daycare (off to grandma's) by Tuesday it was over 101 so to the doctor we went. He has had a slight cough ever since he had the Croop but the doctor said not to worry about it until he had a fever. Well it finally went back into his lungs. I think this was the sickest he's been, or at least the craniest. Man sick babies are no fun. He would try to laugh but would just end up crying, It was sad and frustrating and draining. Thank goodness but Saturday he was starting to feel better and Monday morning he woke up and I could tell i had my happy baby back. What a relief......

Splish splash Cody's taking a big boy bath....

I finally broke down and stopped using the infant bather. Cody has been grown out of it for weeks now, but I wasn't ready to let it go yet. I don't know why, I was just a little nervous about him being in the big bath. We LOVE bath time. No matter if Cody is happy or cranky, bath time makes him happy, which makes me happy.

We went to
the South Florida Fair this past weekend. Cody really didn't know what to make of all the bright lights and peeps. He spent the entire time we were there moving his head from side to side trying to see everything with a blank stare. Cody overload......

I'm still treading along with my goal to get back to my pre-baby
weight. I'm down 2.5 lbs since the new year. It's slowly coming off. I've come to realize I may get down the weight I was but I don't thik i'll ever be the same size. It's ok, cause my little man is worth every inch of it!

Codyman ~ 8 Months

Wow, Where did the last 8 months go. It seems like just yesterday Cody was this little baby that I didn't know exactly what to do with. Now he's a 21lb crazy little man. Everyday is still something new. Last Monday I picked him up from daycare and he stuck his tongue out at me. It' the cutiest thing. It's like he just realized he had one. It could be any time of the day and out it comes and we can't help but laugh.

We are trying all sorts of new foods these days. Cody loves baby yogurt, baby puffs, scrambled eggs and pears. Everytime we try something new, he gets this funny scrunchie face, as if to say what the heck it this. Then he realizes he likes it, and open his mouth goes for some more.
We are now a crazy roller. Not so long ago, Craig and I thought something was wrong cause Cody
wouldn't roll over, now we can't stop him. We put him on the floor and off he goes. He is starting to creep a little but he realizes that if he wants to go somewhere, it's faster to roll to get there. Past are the days I can leave him on the changing table, the bed or the couch. Within seconds he's on his belly. We are in such trouble
once he learns to crawl.

As for me, I am back on the diet plan and exercise regiment. During the Holidays I slacked a bit, but I am determined to take this last 10 lbs off plus hopefully a few more. I will keep you posted.....

Codyman ~ 33 Weeks ~ Happy New Year

Wow, what a year...... This time last year I was almost 5 months pregnant, we had just found out that the baby was a boy, didn't have a name yet and we were just starting the figure out what we were doing as a theme for the nursary. Now my little man weighs over 21 lbs, is rolling around like crazy, is starting to put sounds together and eats everything you put in front of him.

We spent New Years Eve over the Wilsons. Rick and Molly were actually out of town for the Holiday but had offered the house to us so know one would have to drive. We started the night off with a little swim in the pool with the baby. He loves it. He hasn't been in a pool in a while, so this was a treat for us. Then we got ready and about 5 couples joined us. Cody was only up until around 8pm. he really can't stay up too late. He did wake up around 1am so we gave him a bubba and then we all went to bed around 2am. Luckily my little early bird slept until 8am.

We spent the rest of the day being very lazy. We went over the parents around 4pm, handed the baby over, cuddled on the couch and watched football. It was nice. We spent the rest of the weekend cleaning the house and putting the XMAS decorations away. Very relaxing....

Santa Baby - Cody's first Christmas

Wow, I can't believe Cody is over 7 months old and we just had our first Christams together. Unfortunetly we wasn't quite himself over our long weekend.

Monday night we put him to bed as usual around 8pm. At around 10pm we woke up screaming, so Craig went in to get him and it seemed as if he was choking or gagging on something and he had this horrific cough I had never herd before. Immediately we jumped into the car and off to the Hospital we went (pajama's in all). The minute we went in they knew right away it was Croup. The gave Cody a breathing treatment, a steroid and an ex-ray. The ex-ray came back normal so home we went, all within 1 1/2 hours. The next few days were not very fun. The steroid made Cody hyper so we didn't sleep very well and of course with the cough and not feeling well we was quite cranky. Even through all this we still had a very nice Christams day.

We started our Christmas morning at our house opening all the gifts we received from out of town. Cody did a pretty good job tearing the paper open once we started it. We got lots of books, building skills toys and Mommy's favorites.....cloths. After Cody's nap we headed over to the Grandma's houses.
First my moms house then we all headed to Tim and Michelle's. Man, did Cody make out like a bandit. We have enough stuff to last quite a while. Both families spoiled our little guy like crazy. It was a nice relaxing day and thank goodness Cody seems to be much better. Now looking forward to New
Years Eve and Day

Cody ~ 30 Weeks

This past week we realized Cody is just a little too big for his swing, so out came the walker.....He loves this thing. We put him in it and he just lights up. There are 3 different settings with lights and music. Another life saver. I can put him in it(every morning while I get the bags in the car)and not worry about him rolling off the couch or the dogs stepping on him. For now, he is just getting the hang of moving in it, he creeps a little more every day. Give him a few weeks and he's going to be wizzing around the house.
We had to take a trip to the Peditricians office this week. Cody had a temp of 102.7 which was caused by an ear infection. Poor little guy. During our visit he was weighed and measured and the is now 20 lb 2oz and 28 inched long. His head circumference is in the 95%, Length and weight is 90%. Wow, he is as big as most one yeard olds.

Cody's 1st Thanksgiving

We decided to go to my Dad's in SC for Cody's first Thanksgivung. So we packed the car and north we headed. I was pretty nervous on how our little guy would do stuck in the car for that long. I was pleasantly surprised. We kept a spot in the back seat clear so I could jump in back if needed. I was back there for about an hour and half each way. Not bad. He got cranky for about an hour each way but wouldn't you.

It is absolutely beautiful up there. It was a little chilly, but not bad. 40's @ night and mid 60's during the day. Craig got to go golfing on Thanksgiving morning while Cody and i stayed behind and helped with the cooking. We went to Savanna on Friday and man it's so nice there. We took a Trolley tour of the city and walked around, ate lunch and of course shopped in the biggest candy store I had ever been in. It was a great day. Cody was such a good boy during the whole trip, just watching eveything and taking it all in.
Cody cut his second bottom tooth about 2 weeks ago and is now cutting his first upper tooth. It is so dang cute. He smiles at me and I melt everytime. He is also rolling over consistantly now.
We are going to be in trouble once he is on the move. He is twisting and turning to get at things and once he gets them, right in the mouth it goes. I look at this amazing little boy and feel truely blessed everyday. He is such a good natured baby. I know this may change in the future, but for now I am thanking the satrs above......
