Santa Baby - Cody's first Christmas

Wow, I can't believe Cody is over 7 months old and we just had our first Christams together. Unfortunetly we wasn't quite himself over our long weekend.

Monday night we put him to bed as usual around 8pm. At around 10pm we woke up screaming, so Craig went in to get him and it seemed as if he was choking or gagging on something and he had this horrific cough I had never herd before. Immediately we jumped into the car and off to the Hospital we went (pajama's in all). The minute we went in they knew right away it was Croup. The gave Cody a breathing treatment, a steroid and an ex-ray. The ex-ray came back normal so home we went, all within 1 1/2 hours. The next few days were not very fun. The steroid made Cody hyper so we didn't sleep very well and of course with the cough and not feeling well we was quite cranky. Even through all this we still had a very nice Christams day.

We started our Christmas morning at our house opening all the gifts we received from out of town. Cody did a pretty good job tearing the paper open once we started it. We got lots of books, building skills toys and Mommy's favorites.....cloths. After Cody's nap we headed over to the Grandma's houses.
First my moms house then we all headed to Tim and Michelle's. Man, did Cody make out like a bandit. We have enough stuff to last quite a while. Both families spoiled our little guy like crazy. It was a nice relaxing day and thank goodness Cody seems to be much better. Now looking forward to New
Years Eve and Day

Cody ~ 30 Weeks

This past week we realized Cody is just a little too big for his swing, so out came the walker.....He loves this thing. We put him in it and he just lights up. There are 3 different settings with lights and music. Another life saver. I can put him in it(every morning while I get the bags in the car)and not worry about him rolling off the couch or the dogs stepping on him. For now, he is just getting the hang of moving in it, he creeps a little more every day. Give him a few weeks and he's going to be wizzing around the house.
We had to take a trip to the Peditricians office this week. Cody had a temp of 102.7 which was caused by an ear infection. Poor little guy. During our visit he was weighed and measured and the is now 20 lb 2oz and 28 inched long. His head circumference is in the 95%, Length and weight is 90%. Wow, he is as big as most one yeard olds.

Cody's 1st Thanksgiving

We decided to go to my Dad's in SC for Cody's first Thanksgivung. So we packed the car and north we headed. I was pretty nervous on how our little guy would do stuck in the car for that long. I was pleasantly surprised. We kept a spot in the back seat clear so I could jump in back if needed. I was back there for about an hour and half each way. Not bad. He got cranky for about an hour each way but wouldn't you.

It is absolutely beautiful up there. It was a little chilly, but not bad. 40's @ night and mid 60's during the day. Craig got to go golfing on Thanksgiving morning while Cody and i stayed behind and helped with the cooking. We went to Savanna on Friday and man it's so nice there. We took a Trolley tour of the city and walked around, ate lunch and of course shopped in the biggest candy store I had ever been in. It was a great day. Cody was such a good boy during the whole trip, just watching eveything and taking it all in.
Cody cut his second bottom tooth about 2 weeks ago and is now cutting his first upper tooth. It is so dang cute. He smiles at me and I melt everytime. He is also rolling over consistantly now.
We are going to be in trouble once he is on the move. He is twisting and turning to get at things and once he gets them, right in the mouth it goes. I look at this amazing little boy and feel truely blessed everyday. He is such a good natured baby. I know this may change in the future, but for now I am thanking the satrs above......

Cody ~ 6 months

Our little man turned 6 months yesterday. WOW....Where did the time go? Where did my baby go? Craig and I were looking through his baby pictures and we can't remember him being that small. I figured it out, between week 5-7 he went from a little tiny thing to a chubby monkey.
We had his 6 month check up on Monday and he weighed in at a whopping 19 lbs and 25 3/4 long. He is definetly bigger that he is long. I put all his 6-9 month cloths away and he is now wearing 12+ months. It makes me so sad to know that he is not my little baby anymore, he is my big boy.
He us now on stage 2 foods, which is very exciting. We are able to eat all the mixed foods now. He is so cute, everytime I feed him, he waits a second to see what new food is in his mouth then opens up for more. I really want him to eat his green veggies but he is not having it. He will not eat the peas AT ALL and isn't very keen on the green beans, but he does love the carrots, squash and sweet potatoes actually everything that is not green.
Cody cut his first tooth last Friday. We are so very excited, but also sad because this backs up that he isn't a little guy anymore. I think he has a high tolerence to pain because he wasn't even cranky until the day the tooth actaully cut. He still isn't rolling over often but can sit up for minutes at a time so I guess it will come in time and the doctor isn't worried. I guess the books are right, every baby does things on there own time table.....

Cody's First Spookytime

Well we tried the Pumpkin patch for a second time and Cody still wasn't having it. I guess some pictures are better than nothing at all, even without smiles.

Halloween was very similar to the Pumkin Patch, no smiles. We had ourselves a cranky pants dressed in a very very cute Frankenstien costume. It didn't help that trick or treating is very close to sleepy time and that it was like 80 degrees and humid as heck. We were hoping for even a little cool front but that didn't happen. Halloween this year was way more for me than it was for the little man. He was just annoyed with us, but we still had fun showing him off.

So last week he found his feet, now he has figured out how to put them in his mouth. So cute. He still isn't rolling over consistantly (think hes too chubby) but he is trying to pull himself up all the time. We think he will be sitting up before he rolls over. he also is starting to creep. I just love watching him explore new things. It's like in the last few weeks he's become so aware of his surroundings. He wants to be sitting up, watching everything. Stinks so bad that we only get a few hours(mostly cranky) a day and the weekends.

Daycare tells us he is active all day and most days he doesn't take a afternoon nap. He doesn't want to miss anything. The problem with this is, by the time he gets home, he's sleepy and cranky and doesn't want to play. Even though I wish he would sleep longer in the am (up by 6:30-7am even weekends), the mornings are the best. He is so happy and lovey dovey. I'm just amazed by him every day......

Cody's first Pumpkin Patch.....

We visited out first pumkin patch this weekend
with Cody and our Moms. Unfortunetly there were no smiles to be had but at least we got some pictures. We are going to try again next weekend and hopefully the little man will cooperate a little more.

We also took Cody to his first festival. Oktoberfest is a festival at the Germain/American club that runs the middle 2 weekends in October. They have lots of beer and Germain fair with live music and a little ride park for the kids. Cody had a blast. We were dancing around and singing. If you have ever seen Beerfest you will understand. Next year Cody will be big enough to really enjoy the kiddie area.

This past week Cody found his feet. All he wants to do is grab them. He even pulls off his socks just to get to his piggies. It's so cute. He rolled over a few weeks ago, but since then not so much. He has his hands in his month at all times, which makes it difficult to roll. He gets his entire body over except his shoulders and head. You would think he was teething the way he continuesly drools and has his hands in his mouth, but he's not. It's any day now.....

As for me. We think I'm on the correct dosage for my thyroid issue. Ive lost 10 pounds in the last 5 weeks which makes me veryy happy. I'm really only going to the gym on the weekends. I was trying to go at least once during the week, but Cody usually gets cranky around 6:30-7 so i want to have at least an hour of happy time. I am going to try going after he goes to bed. Also I'm hoping it will cool off soon so I can walk at night a couple times a week. Only 11 lbs to go to hit pre-pregnany weight. Yippee

Cody ~ 5 Months

So far so good on the food. Cody loves all the fruits and likes the green beans, carrots and squash. It was a big NO on the peas and he's not so fond of the sweet potatoes. I think he may have had a little reaction to them. He got a slight rash and was cranky and gassy the day we gave them to him. I will try them again in a month or so.

Everyday with him is like an adventure wondering what new he will do today. Weekends go by way too fast. His new thing is screaching. I think he likes to hear his own voice and of course I think its adorable. He is also grabbing at everything. I can put him on the couch with his boppy around him, put a bunch of toys in front of him and he's good to go for a while.

Cody is growing at a records pace. Most of his 6 months cloths are getting snug and will need to be put away within the next few weeks. He is now in 9-12 months and even some of those are snug. Luckily his daycare cloths I bought 6-12 months and are still fairly loose. Its so hard for me. I love to shop and would buy him new stuff every week but I have to stop myself knowing he will grow out of everything within months and he has plenty of cloths(also thanks to my mom).

This past week I had to go away for training and it was pure hell. I missed Cody so much. 3 nights away from him was 3 too many. Thankfully when I came home he acted like he didn't even know I was gone, but I knew and felt guilty for leaving him. Man, I love this little boy more than words can say.....

19 Weeks

Cody rolled over for the first time tonight....It was so amazing and exciting. We have been working on tummy time for so time now and he was going from his side to his belly but never a full roll over. Craig and I were both here to experience it and WOW, we are so proud of him.

We started Cody on veggies this past week and he has done very good. No reactions so far. He wasn't so fond of the peas, but liked all the other veggies. Tomorrow is the last day of sweet potatoes then onto all the fruits. This is were the fun starts. So far he loves to eat. Everytime he sees the bottle or the bowl he gets all excited. He is definetly a happy chubby little boy.

Cody still isn't sleeping through the night. He wakes up every night between 3am-4:30. Luckily he goes right back down after his bubba, but a full un-interupted night of sleep would be nice. I still pretty much go to bed right after Cody. I am sound asleep by 9:30 every night. He's up between 6:30 ans 7am even on the weekends. I know eventually he will sleep longer, just don't know when.....

Jet Setter ~ 4 Months

At Cody's 4 month wellness visit, he weighed a whopping 16lbs 8 oz's and 25 1/2 inches long. He is now wearing 6-9 month cloths. I for sure thought he was in the 90% for weight but he was only 75% in both height and weight. His doctor said he would have to weigh over 20lbs to be considered really chunky, but to me he is still my chubby monkey.

This past week Cody took his second plane ride in 4 months. He's a seasoned flyer now. Again, he did very good. Didn't cry at all on our trip up to Mass and was only a bit cranky (luckily Daddy was with us) on our way back. We had a fantastic time. We spent a bunch of time with my family and of course with the friends. The only issue was all the kids were sick and Cody got his first cold. Started with a little runny nose and now has a cough, no fever though. It's that time of year, what can you do.

Cody is moving along quite well. Based on my What to expect book, he is hitting all the milestones except the rolling over. I think his chunky legs are getting in the way. If I put him on his side, he will roll either to his tummy or back but thats it. We are working on tummy time everynight. He can move his toys from one hand to another, focus on your face, smile and laugh at everything and is grabbing at all my jewelry. He is so damn cute....

We have started him on cereal and once he got the hang of it, seems to really like it. He opens his month in anticipation of the spoon and is grabbing at his bottle with his chubby little hands. We will be starting him on his veggies this week. Peas and beans to start, then the sweeter veggies and finally on fruits. I've herd it's better to start on the less desirable foods so he won't get used to the sweets and may not the the green veggies. I will post pics of how it goes

Having him with me this past week just make me treasure every moment even more. I cannot picture our lives without him. ....

Cody ~ 16 Weeks

I know everybody tells you once you have a baby it changes everything but it is so true. I can't even imagine loving anything or anybody more than I love this little boy. Sometimes it brings tears to my eyes thinking about it. I can't wait to see him when he first wakes up in the morning(even though I do want him to sleep) Just the look on his face when he looks up and sees my face takes my breath away. Everyday I call Craig right around 4:30pm just to make sure he picked him up from school (I know he has, I just need to make sure), and then I run out of work just to get home to him. My life revolves around this little person.

A couple of weeks ago Cody got his first sickness from daycare. Something called stomatitis. I had never herd of this but I guess it's common in babies, it's like baby strep throat. I had been back to work exactly 1 week and had to take the day off already. Everybody told me this isn't a bad thing it will build up his immune system, but still didn't like seeing our little guy sick. Within that week both craig and I both got sick. I of course being the Mom now, I had to just work through it, and I couldn't take another day off from work, geeze I had just gotten back.

Me being sick was a blessing in diguise. I went to the urgent care clinic over the weekend because I had a sore throat. The minute she felt my throat she asked if I ever had a Thyroid problem. I told yes I had while I was pregnant but hadn't though much about it since I had the baby. On top of having Strep throat(not related) She ordered up a bunch of blood tests, sent me to have a ultrasound and gave me a referral to a Endocrinogist (thyroid specialist). Long story short.... I have a very serious thyroid problem(under active) that needed immediate care. I will probably be on meds forever for this now. It all made sense. Why I haven't been loosing weight even though I've been on strict diet(I actaully gained 4 lbs) Why I was still extremely tired even though I was sleeing better, Why I wasnted to kill Craig for small little things, Why I was crying all the time. I just thought I was a new Mom trying to cope with my new role. I'm not happy I have a health issue, but at least I have answers to why I was feeling so horrible.

I am happy to say, that it has been over a week that I've been on medication and I'm feeling much better, I'm still tired but not as much. Cody is only waking up once a night and goes back to sleep most nights right away. He is for the most part on a steady schedule and this I am very happy about. Well my Mom is here and I am very happy about this. She has spent the last week moving in and getting her house just right. I am so happy for her(and me). It is going to be so great to have her right around the corner. It has been almost 10 years since we have lived in the same state so this will be a nice chapter in both our lives.....

Cody ~ 3 Months

Yes Cody started daycare, yes I started work and yes I completly broke down in the parking lot of the daycare. Nothing can put into words the feeling of leaving your 12 week old baby in the hands of strangers. We are 100% sure of the daycare provider we choose, but to actually hand your child over to a women you just met a few weeks earlier is heartbreaking.... Everyday has gotten better and the only thing that gets me through the day is knowning when I walk through the door Cody is here, waiting for me with the most incredible toothless smile.

It's amazing how in just a few short weeks he has changed so much. He smiles and laughs and is holding his head up on his own. We play games (made up by me of course) sing songs and he loves tummy time now. He can hold himself up on his chunky man forearms for extended periods of time and is standing with us just holding his hands. He's amazing and I look forward to everyday.

Cody has offically outgrown his 3 month cloths, he is in 6 months now. Its bittersweet, I so look forward to all the fun little things that are happening and are going to happen in the future, but on the other hand putting his stuff away makes me realize my little muffin is growing up. It makes me happy and sad all at the same time:)

As for me. I am starting to feel like myself again. Cody still isn't sleeping through the night. Some nights hes up just once (loves those) and others its still every 3 hours. With the growth spurt he just went through I am hoping he is getting adjusted and things will start to happen. I'm on my very strict 2 week no carb phase of my diet and have been to the gym a couple of times this week. Hopefully my metabolism is starting up again and the remaining weight will come off steadily. I'll keep you posted.....

Keys Baby ~ 12 Weeks

Our first family vacation was fun and relaxing. We were invited to join Amber's yearly family's trip. They rented a 10 bedroom house directly on the ocean in Islamorado (the middle keys). It was fantastic. Everybody was so fun and nice. We would hang around the pool (of course cody and I were in the shade) and during Cody's naps I would get some sun and pool time. A few days we took Cody into town for lunch and shopping and the other days Daddy spent fishing and lobstering. I even got to go one day while Molly watched Cody for us. It was a nice way to end the final week of my maturnity leave.....
Next Monday is Cody's first day at daycare(Ugh). We went this past Monday to register him and Craig was able to get the tour. I feel very comfortable there, but no comfort level is going to prepare me for leaving my 12 week old son in the care of strangers. It's going to be just awful. I actually don't start work til the wednesday after. I did this so I don't have to go back to work the same day I leave him off. I will probably go to the gym do a few errands and pick him after lunch. I'm going to miss little monkey so much.

I'm not so sure how I feel about going back to work. Part of me wishes I could stay home with Cody and the other part of me knows that I only work well with structure and plans and staying home I definetly don't have any structure. I also know that infants/children usually thrive in environments were they are ingrated with other chrildren. I know this is the best thing for my child, it just plain scares me.....

Massachusetts her we come ~ 10 Weeks

Cody and I took our first trip to Massachusetts this week. I was a little nervous but he did so good. just a bit fussy but overall i was very happy. Luckily my mom was here (she bought a house!) so we all flew up together. We weren't supposed to meet everybody until September, but Auntie Melissa and Auntie Vicky couldn"t wait and flew us up.

We had such a nice time. We had a whole day with boths sides of my family. My dad came down from Western Mass and we spent the day at my brothers house and my mom had my aunts and uncles come to her clubhouse to meet Cody. Everybody loves him.

We also had lots of time with our friends. Lots of playdates andf cookouts with all the babies and kids. We traveled between Melissa and Vicky's house. For once I actually relaxed and rested on a trip to Massachustts. Cody actually slept. I was amazed. Most nights 4-5 hours at a time, it was fantastic. I think it has a lot to do with the fresh air. We were outside everyday and night. Unfortuntly it has not followed us home.

Our first night he only slept 2 hours all night and last night it was better 3 hours at a time. At least I do have faith now that his sleep patterns will continue to get better. Now we are off to Isla Morada in the Keys. Aunty Ambers family has invited us to be a part of there yearly family trip. We can't wait. this will be our first family vacation. I will have lots of pictures nexttime.......

Chunky Monkey ~ 9 Weeks

Im very happy to report that the 4th formula is the one. Cody is still a bit cranky but nowhere near how he was before. He has no problem passing toots and going #2 now. We are very happy parents here at the Bautz house.

We (I) have figured out what makes my son happy and content..... musical mobiles. Unfortunetly we didn't have any of those in our house(our swing and crandle didn't have one) , but luckily our good friends the Pikes did. Eileen is a life saver, she let us borrow her bassinet and swing, both with musical mobiles. My life has changed. I can now put him in the bassinet, take a shower and actually blow dry my hair, same with the swing (he is sleeping in it right now). Life is good!

At Cody's 2 month wellness visit he weighed 12lbs and 23 1/2 in. We thought he would weigh more, I think he looks so big because he was little when he was born. He had his vaccinations at this visit. It was plain awful. My poor little guy cried harder than I had ever herd, It was just heartbreaking. Vaccinations make me very nervous, but I knw they are necessary espeically since we are getting on our first plane trip to Massachusetts this week. I can't wait for everybody to me our chunky monkey. It should be a very special trip. I can finally have baby playdates with all my friends.

Cody ~ 7 Weeks

In the past few weeks Cody has turned
into a cranky pants. We realized he may be a bit colicky, is having trouble passing gas and he no longer sleeps well at night. He now sleeps 1 1/2 hours to 3 hours at a time. Needless to say I am absolutely exhausted. I used to need at least 8 hours of sleep each night to function well, now I am lucky to get 4-5. We changed his formula to a gas/fussy version just this week. They say it takes 5-7 days to see a change, so keep your fingers crossed that this does the trick.

During our visit to the doctor Cody weighed in at 11 lbs 3.5 ounces. Thats 2lbs 3oz in 2 weeks. Cody is quite a chunky monkey these days. My monkey now has a double chin and rolls on his arms and legs, which is wicked cute. He is starting to smile at us often and is getting some of his motor skills. My book says this is right on track for 6-7 weeks.

As for me, other than being exhausted and cranky, I'm good. I'm back to the gym (when i have the energy) and have been eating right, that is when I have time to eat. 26 lbs down, 20 to go. Craig has been great. I try not to get him up during the week since he is working unless it's real bad, but come the weekends, we split Cody duty. I usually hand him over around 6am and go back to bed for a few hours. It's fantastic.

Please keep your fingers crossed that the new formula is the one and I will try to update the blog more often:)

Cody ~ 5 Weeks

I know I haven't written in a couple of weeks, but all you new moms know how busy we get. In the last few weeks there have been a bunch of firsts.....

Cody's belly button finally fell off, so it was time for our first bath. I knew he would like it, because when I washed his hair in the sink he would stop crying, but he really loves tubby time and thank goodness it makes him sleepy.

My son now grunts. It seems anytime he gets angry his fists ball up and here come the grunts. I actually think its adorable (along with almost everything else)

We had our first time in the pool. Daddy and Cody had a fantastic time in Aunty Ambers pool (of course I am not getting in a bathing suit yet) Another reason I think Cody loves the water. He was very content as Daddy was swishing him all along. I hope to have him in the water a couple of times a week.

The last first was our after hours visit to Cody's peditrician. I had switched his formula to Good Start which most of our friends used and almost immedietly Cody broke out in a rash and was up every hour and 1/2. At first I thought it was baby acne but when we woke up on Sunday a rash was all over his face and neck. We went right into the doctor. We got a gel for his face and switched right back to Similac but the sensitive rs formula. I am happy to report my little guy is back to his hansome self and is back to sleeping at least 3 hours at a time. Also he weighed in over 9 lbs and is 21 1/2 inches

Family Time ~ Week 3

Last week was full of visits and fun time. My Mom was here until last Saturday, My Dad and Chris came on Wednesday until Thursday and Melissa came in on Thursday night and stayed until Sunday. Wow, it was wonderful. Everybody met our little guy.

Thank goodness for my Mom and Melissa. My mom would take Cody every morning for a couple of hours so I could sleep and Melissa took him Friday night and I actually slept 9 hours and with my husband. It was heaven.

Starting Monday it was just Cody and me and thats ok. I've been doing fairly well. We have sort of, gotten into a schedule (thanks to Melissa). Cody has been sleeping anywhere from 2.5 hours to 4.5 hours at night and and 2-3 hours during the day. Depending when he wakes up in the am, we usually go back to sleep until 8 or 9am. We get up and take a bath/change, eat and play time. A few days we've gone on little trips to Target and back to the same schedule, eat, change and playtime. This has been working out well so far. I know, he is only 3 weeks old so this will change a million times, but for now it is working....

At Cody's check-up this week, he gained 10 ounces. After his first check-up he was down to 6lbs, then 6.5 lbs, now he is 7.3 lbs and 20 1/2 inches. He is becoming a big boy. He is finally fitting into some of the newborn outfits. I can't wait to see how much he gains in 2 weeks, because let me tell you, he eats like a piggy, but whatever the little prince wants he is getting. :)

Cody ~ Week Two

Wow, the first 2 weeks of Cody's life has flown by. It really seems like he has been here all along. Everyday he amazes me. I can watch him all day, with all his new faces and moves. He really is a mini-me of Craig, other than his chin, he is so his daddy's son. I am a very lucky girl.

With Grandma here, we have gotten into quite a nice routine. Mommy stays up all night with Cody (he sleeps about 2 hours at a time), then Grandma takes him around 7am and I get a couple of hours of uninterupted sleep. It is fantastic.... We spend the day eating and napping and taking lots of pictures. I want to capture every face and expresson. Then Daddy gets home around 4:30 and he spends time with him in the evening. I try to take a nap around 7:30p and sleep until 9:30-10p. Then the cycle starts all over again. I wish this could go on until he sleeps through the night, but Grandma is leaving Saturday, so come Monday, it is a whole new ball game. I will keep you posted on how I am coping on my own.....

At Cody's first doctor appointment he had lost 10 ounces, so she put him on formula and wanted to see him 1 week later. At that appoinment he had gained back almost 6 ounces, so she was very happy with his progress. We go back on Monday and I am guessing he will be well over 7 lbs. He seems to be very hungry at night, so I usually give him 3 ounces instead of his normal 2. Even though he is up at least 2 -3 times at night, I really can't complain. He rarely cries and only spits up a bit after each feeding. So far he is a very good liitle boy.

As for me, I am healing fairly well. I'm still a bit sore, but other than that I feel pretty good, except for being tired. I don't go back to my doctor for another 2 1/2 weeks and hopefully after that I will be cleared to go back to the gym. I can't wait, I gained 45 lbs and have lost 20 so far. Once I've been cleared it's on, no more junk no more sweets (my downfall). I really am excited to get back into shape.

Baby Love

Cody Preston Bautz came screaming into the world @ 10:12 am on May 14, 2009. I actually did go into labor on my due date but not til around 8pm. We were checked into the hospital at 10pm and then the fun began. After about 3 hours of pretty intense contractions I was dialated enough to get the epidural and wow it really is fantastic. I won't bore you with all the details, but WOW, giving birth is quite an experience.

Let me tell you, nothing compares to the first site of your child. This little person you have been nourturing and carrying for the last 9+ months, especially when you have to go through what we did to get him. It is truely AMAZING. Thats all I have for now, I'm a little sleepy. I will be updating with more pictures and stories as I get the energy. hahahaha :)

40 Weeks ~ Still waiting

Well my due date is here and it does not look like today is the day. At my doctors appointment on Monday there wasn't much of a change. I have had some real contractions, but nothing close together. I go back tomorrow and they will do an ultrasound and an exam so hopefully there is some progress. We will then talk about inducing if nothing happens today.

My Mom got here on Thursday. It has been great to have her here. She has been helping me around the house and keeping me company. My last day of work was Monday, I was trying to work up until I went into labor, but it's just too hard and not worth it. Sandi was here this weekend w/Amaya. We were all hoping I would have Cody when she was here but I'm not the lucky. hahaha

I am truely miserable now. My back, pelvis and legs ache so bad I can hardly walk. Everytime I eat something I get horrific heartburn, thank goodness I'm not that hungry anymore, theres no room in there. Cody is still as active as ever which hurts even more since there is no room. I'm just praying that I go into labor soon, I just can't imagine having to wait 1 more to meet our son!

39 Weeks ~ Still Kicking

My mom is flying in today, so now we can really get this show on the road. I am very excited to have her here with us. My last day of work was supposed to be tomorrow, but with only so much time off and vacation time, I don't want to waste my time now, just in case Cody is late. We have agreed with our doctor we will go 1 week before inducing. So no matter what my last day will be next friday. Thank goodness.

I have been enjoying all my favorites these past few weeks. Italian, cheeseburgers, egg mcmuffins and of course ice cream almost every night! Why not? I only have a little time left before I have to start back on the diet train and I didn't gain a pound this week, YIPPEE. I can say I do miss working out and can't wait til I get the green light to start again.

At this weeks doctor appointment I was still 1 centimeter but 70% effaced. I do feel a bit of a difference in my pelvic area, which now aches and of course Cody is still on my sciatic nerves. My book said that Cody should start slowing down with the kicks since there not a lot of room in there, but let me tell you, Cody's kicks are by far worse than they ever have been. They feel like he is kung foo fighting in my belly.

Work is truely miserable since I sit all day, which feels fine, but the minute I get up, wow the pain is almost unbearable. I have been having some contractions, but nothing together, mostly sporadic. I am just hoping that with all these little changes going on, Codyman (Craigs nickname) is going to bless us very very soon!

38 Weeks ~

Wow, what a weekend. The girls were very tricky. I knew my 2nd baby shower was Saturday, so when Amber asked us to the all you can lobster buffet on friday night, we thought nothing of it as we have talked about going in the past and they actually do have one every so often. Luckily I was dressed up for that cuz when we arrived at Ambers parents house, SURPRISE, all the peeps were there. We were very surprised and very excited. Vicky, Vanessa, Larry and My Dad & Chris were there, I burst into happy tears. The girls (Amber, Eileen & Danielle) threw us such a fun and special zoo themed shower. There were so many little touches that were so much fun. The best part was that everybody was here for the remainder of the weekend.....I was able to spend Saturday with my Dad & Chris and of course partying with the girls (9 months prego) for the rest of the weekend.

Well my son has moved onto my sciatic nerves, which means I can harldly walk. It is quite pleasant(not), actually it is very painful. I now understand why every pregnant women is miserable at the end of her pregnancy. The swollen feet, horrific heartburn, not to mention the waddling(even worse with sciatic pain) and the exhaustion. Thank the lord I am still sleeping ok. As long as I get to sleep by ten, I still get atleast 7.5 - 8 hours a night.

We have finished all of classes and feel we are as ready as we can be. The bags are packed, the nursery is 100% complete and the carseat is correctly installed. The few things that we didn't get at our showers have been ordered and are on there way! We are ready to go...... I am still only 1 centimeter and 50% effaced. Hopefully by my next appt. things will have progressed. Craig and I are so ready to meet our son and I can only hope I will be put out of my misery very very soon! hahahaha:)

37 Weeks and counting

The count down has begun. 3 weeks(hopefully) and counting. At
my doctors appointment today I was 1 centimeter dialated and 50% afaced. Its not much but it lets us know that he is getting ready to come into the world. Unfortunetly with him moving down he has settled on some nerves somewhere and I can hardly walk. I have shooting pains through my pelvis, up and down both legs and in my lower back. UGH. Hopefully as he moves this will subside.

Cody's room is completely done and I am so excited. I love it. We had a little set back with the chair I ordered. I was the wrong color, material and very unfortable, luckily we were able to return it (minus the shipping fee) and I found a perfect one at City furniture. It has been delivered and looks fantastic in his room!

We have our last Lamaze class tomorrow. I have our bags ready and think we are as ready as we can be. I'm still not nervous. Apprehensive maybe. Whatever is going to happen is out of our control. As long as we are informed and know what to expect we will be fine. I told my mom today to have her bags packed just in case she needs to get here early. I have my shower this Saturday down here. I haven't been told anything except the date. I'm very excited to see everybody and spend some quality time with our friends, hopefully my body will cooperate. Please pray for me that our little man moves a bit so his mommy feels better :)

35 Weeks

Amber and Matts Wedding was this past weekend and WOW, it was amazing. We started Thursday evening off with a BBQ and proceeded with all the fun girls activities on Friday ending with the Rehersal Dinner. Saturday was a perfect day 83 degrees with a slight breeze. Other than me looking like a giant aqua Easter Egg with a double chin, it was just fantastic. Amber looked like the Princess Bride and Matt was beaming from ear to ear. Craig had the most amazing speech, nobody could believe how good it was. It nearly brought everyone to tears, including me!

After this weekend, I really feel prego. Up until now, I was doing pretty good. Well not anymore. I'm exhausted, my feet and ankles look like bowling balls and I can hardly walk up a flight of stairs without getting winded. Man, this is rough and I know it's only going to get worse. I know I shouldn't complain since I've had it fairly easy so far, but I feel like a small army.

To date we have attended the Breastfeeding and Baby CPR classes and we satrted our first of 3 Lamaze classes this week. So far we feel the classes have been very informative and we are learning alot. Craig did really good during the Lamaze class even though some of it is not so pleaseant. I still have a nagging feeling I am going to go early but only time will tell. Cody has been kicking the crap out of me and it really really hurts, but I do know that the minute I see him all the aches and pains will seem like nothing compaired the joy he will bring. We are still truely blessed.

33 Weeks

Lots of exciting things going on in the past few weeks. The nursery is done with the except of the rocking chair, the 19" flat screen and a few decorations. They have been ordered and should be in shortly. We are so happy with how it turned out. Craig really did put tons of work into the entire upstairs. I love it! I wish I could roll my bed in there and go night night.

Matt and Ambers wedding is next Saturday, wow time flys. Craigs brother and family get in tomorrow. It will be nice to spend time with them over the next week, then non stop festivities starting thursday. It's going to be a blast, I just hope Cody and I can keep up.
I am starting to slow down quite a bit. My feet and ankles are starting to swell with certain foods and walking up even a flight of stairs winds me. It's funny, I can still do 25 minutes on the eliptical, but 1 flight of stairs and I'm out of breath. The heartburn it everyday but I'm still sleeping quite comfortably with the help of my best friend the body pillow. I would die without it, it is a prego's greatest asset.

Had an ultrasound today and the nurse said Cody weighs about 4lbs 6oz. Let me tell you, it feels like he is at least 8lbs in there. His kicks are packing quite a punch, they actually hurt. She said that was normal and it will only get worse. YIKES. I feel like an umpa lumpa, but cuter of course:)

31 Weeks

This past weekend I was home in Mass for my babyshower and it was wonderful. My mom, Melissa and Vicky did a awesome job. They had all my favorite foods and I got tons of goodies for my little man. The unfortunate part was that I got the stomach flu the night before and was sick as a dog. Even with the sickness it was a really nice day. I got to see and spend time with most everybody. I saw my family on many different occasions and of course my girls. Happily, I didn't feel rushed on this trip, it was great but of course too short.

Hopefully we will have Cody's room completed this weekend. Craig is going to finish the closet and then on to the task of decorationg. I have all the bedding ready to be set up as well a few decorations. I can't wait to wash all the little outfits he got and start organizing them. I think this is called the "nesting period" I just want everything ready for his arrival. I keep having this re-occurring dream he is coming early. EEEKKKK.

As for me, I am starting to feel a bit heavy and slowed down. It's alot harder to do the things you take for granted 30 lbs ago, even bending over is a task:) The heartburn is full blown and Cody is kicking the crap out of my belly daily, but I still can't complain, it will be worth every second when he is finally here. 9 weeks and counting.....

29 Weeks *Concert Baby*

This past weekend Craig and I took Cody to his second concert, Hall & Oats. I think he will come out loving music and dancing. We were singing and dancing in our seats, he loved it, We may have a rock star in our future.

Cody and I made it through Ambers wedding festivities. I was very proud of myself, made it to last bar until I had to bail out, and even without a nap! It was lots of fun. We had her shower first followed by a bar hopping bachlorette party. Good times....

On Wednesday we had out 3d/4d ultrasound and video. It was so amazing. All of a sudden we could see our little guys face up on the screen. Craigs parents came with us and they were amazed as well. The pictures didn't come out too clear, he was moving all about, but the video is awesome. He stuck his tongue out at us and was sucking his thumb/fingers. We think he has my nose and Craigs lips. Now we really can't wait to meet him! Wow, 11 weeks and counting.......
